Making it on nothing.

Sometimes you have to be very thankful for what you have in life. Believe me, there are others who do not have half as much and seem to get by without making a fuss. However, something has to be done about our priorities in this country. I could not imagine going through what the people in the link have to go through. Let's stop the nonsense and get down to being the keeper of our brothers and sisters. Also, please read some of the comments attached to the video and see what your fellow human beings think about this situation.

Before viewing the video the first thing that came to mind was a paper I wrote about "Unearned Wealth in America". The majority of this country's wealth sits in the bank accounts of white America. This wealth has been passed down from generation to generation and can be traced as far back as slavery. The wealth of this country is due to the hard work and inhumane conditions Africans were subject to. However, Africans in America have yet to reap the benefits. Native Americans too are victims of this reality. This country’s government gives money to other countries but neglects to help people in their own country. What is sad is these Indians are in their native land, hence the name Native Americans but are not being treated as if they are at home.
The reporter in the video mentions these Native American believe there is a conspiracy to keep them living below poverty and wipe them out. Based on the behaviors and beliefs of this country’s leaders past and contemporary, I agree. Africans in America and Native Americans have been exposed to many of the same ordeals for hundreds of years. Not long after slavery was abolished Exclusionary laws were enacted because whites were in fear of blacks and the possibility that blacks and Indians would marry, reproduce, and ultimately dominate.
There is not reason, except blatant ignorance, why people in the United States are living in conditions comparable to those in 3rd world countries. It is unfortunate that our people are still viewed as being so inferior that we don’t even deserve the opportunity to attain life’s necessities.

I believe more should be done to stabalize poverty within the U.S.,because how is it that this nation can help others, when poverty here is just as bad. This is exactly why some kids should be taught the difference between what they need and what they want, and that they should work hard to obtain what they want, and don't take what they need for granted.3249

Darnell Everyday I am thankful for the simple things in life that God has blessed with me. Such as, clothing, a roof over my head, and a family who is deeply concerned with my well being. On the contrary, lets just focus on the people who are less fortunate than I am. The video wasn't a shocker to me, in fact I personally know people who are forced to dwell in a environment where they are forced to be victims of povery. But, why classify this matter as the war on poverty? Lets reflect back to the wars in which America has been involved in. Wars for the most part comes to an end, after one side has completely wiped out the other side. But, will this war on poverty ever come to an end? I would love to see the day when minorities for the most part live in luxury like the wealthy cacausian folks in today's society.

When you watch videos like that you become thankful for what you have. You learn to strive for more, and not complain about things you don't have.

This is tragic that poverty occurs all over the world. Its more sad that poverty is occurring in our country. Hopefully, help will come to those who need it.

I'm trying to figure out why America treat Native Americans so bad. They was living here first and as soon as we came and took over thats when they started to fall apart. SJC 1687

This is a truly sad situation. I am very Thankful for all my blessings because they are others in the world who are not even sure how they are eating that day. Jobs are so scared and for good paying ones there are so many qualifications you have to have. One thing I never understood was the fact that wen there is overproduction why doesn't extras be given to people in need. Poverty is everyone worse fear but how can you make it with any help. People out here are really starving and something needs to be done.

I'm a firm believer of karma, and those people are victims of the true holocaust.

Everyone should appreciate what is going on in their life, because they are other people out there suffering and living worser than some of us. I agree that the president should help our country first before helping others, our country needs help espeacially when it comes to poverty. In my beleif it is because of ignorance why some people are living in poverty in the u.s. These Native Americans should never be treated they way they are now, Its very sad. But one day this country is going to need help from another country, and america wont get help, it will all fall apart!

Americans think its better to have the latest pair of boots that are out then being able to put a loaf on the table. I see young children walking around in name brand cloths but are starving because the prorities of the parents are mixed up.
