I wonder what happened to him

The career of a police officer is unpredictable. Each day will bring something new and unexpected. I found this out early on in my career. I was very fortunate to be at the right place at the right time. This attached video is not about me rather it is about a person who was in distress and I was there to be my "Brother's keeper." Let it play for about 22 seconds and then enjoy. PS, it appears that no one has picked up on the fact that this is your professor. I know I look young, it happened in 1989. FYI

I think the jumper was seeking attention. Doesn't seem like he really wanted to die. Much respect to the state trooper.

Well, i have seen those suicidal cases.Usually , because their wives cheat on them ,not to mention "the Recession Effects".Sorry for being too blunt .

Simply put , this video dictates that police officers assume their duties even when being self-destructive .Hence, they merit more appreciation.
This is a State Trooper who is very cooperative ,and he also comprehend the reason for being what he is ,namely to protect citizens regardless. This video also refutes all the defamation against police officers.Frankly, there needs to be more similar videos posted on the blogs of every single persons to change our mindset as to police officers' role in the community .

Furthermore , it means that "the exception can not prove the rule".In other words , just because some of them are being branded "bad",does not means they are all culpable .

A police officer never knows what kinds of situations he will have at work when he wakes up in the morning. It's always good to be prepared, and you feel good at the end of the day when you know you helped somebody out.

Darnell Now that's definately something I don't see everyday, where i'm from the onlookers would have encouraged the dude to jump. And the officer damn sure wouldn't have stopped him. Nonetheless, much respect to the state trooper who saved that guy's life. But, my encounters with police authority has made me believe all cops are the same.

You were at the right place at the right time. Not all police officers are in it for the pension, some actually give a damn about helping people. I hope he realized you gave him a second chance at changing his life. Let's hope he made the most of it. **cg7304**

Good job Prof! I don't know what procedure is in that situation, but I hope that guy appreciates the risk you took to save him. It was a daring move, and I'm happy it worked out.
