Will the real discrimination stand up and be recognized!!!

History tells us that certain groups have been treated differently over the years. Time has passed and legislation has been enacted to correct some of the past problems. Is it so far fetched to believe that in this day and age that white males can claim reverse discrimination? What is really going on? Have the standards been manipulated or is the average "Joe" starting to feel left out? Is there a real bias in testing that disparately impacts minorities or are some not able to make the cut? To say the least, this is a very contentious topic, but it must be tackled...get to it, if you dare.

Frankly , we will witness reverse discrimination ,those whites come to the realization that with the aid of black and hispanic co-workers ,fire fighters could do a more effective job.Besides, it might be the "Obamaism" effect.Furthermore, they feel the need to defend diversity because of this new Attorney General .Mr. Eric Holder is extremely tough on racial equality.I guarrantee you, there will be changed.

please.....Give me a break. I'm sure it exists but hell there are hundreds of years to make up for. Besides, for whites, when one door closes many more open. For us, many doors close and have to pry one open.

Darnell I am insulted at the fact white people is claiming reverse discrimination. Nothing will make up for the 300 years our ancestors suffered during the slavery days. White people never encountered the hardships in which black people suffered for many years. I have come to the conclusion that white people will never know what it feels like to suffer and be oppressed for three decades.

The term "reverse discrimination" never make much sense to me. Discrimination can only be carried out by someone with the power to give. To willing deny another individual the access or authority to access something based on race, religion, or any other reason, one must first have the ability to allow or give access.

That being said, discrimination is most often, or more easily, carried out by the dominant group. So while discrimination at a national level pegs "whites" vs. "minorities", the same does not hold true at the local level. In areas with large amounts of Latino residents and Latinos business owners, and Latino officials, Latinos will tend to be favored and all other groups will experience some sort of discrimination. Same goes for ethnic groups within the Latino community. Mexicans seek to help more Mexicans and Cubans seek to help more Cubans, so on an so forth. Even within this said, the wealthier tend to seek out each other, putting the people of their own ethnicity above others, as long as it doesn't disrupt their own social status.

Discrimination isn't a white thing, it's a "controlling class" thing. Those in control get to choose who they'd like to include or exclude.

I'd dare say that regardless of who would have originally colonized America, the history of the nation would have gone roughly the same way. Is it really hard to think that if whites were the minority, it would be harder for them to find employment, get political representation, or that they'd be the victims of racism??
