nothing is shocking about the nopd. Any negative adjectives you can give a police department is suitable for this one. they are just a big mess.

The NOPD needs a real overhaul. Whatever plans they have implemented in the past have obviously not had the longevity they were supposed to. They really need to refocus how they train their new officers and make sure whatever they do train train that they actually do it, and if they don't, they need to make the consequences for not doing so very severe.
It is a terrible thing that the New Orleans police officers use such harsh and deadly force. In the article they mention it could be poor recruitment, bad training, ignorance or disregard of policies. to me it sounds like this police department really needs to step up and become a lot more strict because this isn't what policing is all about. something needs to be done soon before more trouble occurs and becomes a bigger problem.
