Detroit Police Say 7-Year-Old Shot in Home Search - AOL News

This a very disturbing story. It shows you what can go wrong in a police involved situation. Another baby dead for no reason.

This is a sad story. And of course I cant make a proper assessment because I was not there. The woman should not have been scuffling with the officer, but not really sure what motivated her to do that(if anything).I believe that it was a mistake.

OMG this is such a sad incident and my heart goes out to the family of the little girl. I can not blame the officer or this because it seems to be an accident. SK

This is a sad and unfortunate situation. I truly believe the child being shot was a mistake. I do believe the child should been grabbed away from the commotion. Its not really the lady fault but she should of set an example in front of the child and obeyed the police. She made a stupid move. As for the cop he probably needs more training so a mistake like this won't happen again.

Very unfortunate!...im sure he didn't shoot the girl intentionally but something don't add up to this story. While all this scuffling with a gun is going on, they said she was just laying on the coach. Just doesn't sound right to me, my heart goes out to the police officer and the girl's family. SJC 1687

It's a very sad thing to hear a little girl lost her life so innocent. The person to blame is the girl grandmother how can you fight with the police while the gun is out in there hands. thomas

I blame both the family and the police. It is my belief that the grandmother knew the police were going after the suspect which gave reason to her scuffle, and I blame the police for the accident, not properly trained, no type of gun awareness, very novice.

Such a tragic loss of a young child who had no idea of what was happening. She was probably just standing there trying to make out all the commotion. I blame the mother and the police as well. It appears that she was trying to hold off the police from entering her house because she probably had something to hide and she was trying to hide him. Now that little girl is gone. I hope her conscious bothers her for the rest of her life. She should have just let them in to do their job.
